Prof. Robert Schulz

How must logistics change if production is to become progressively more flexible and versatile? This is one of the research questions that Prof. Robert Schulz, Director of the Institute for Mechanical Handling and Logistics at the University of Stuttgart, would like to answer.

In his work as a Mechanical Engineer with DÜRR AG in Stuttgart, Robert Schulz was responsible for the safety and optimization of vehicle production and logistics for automotive industry customers worldwide.

In 2009, he joined AUDI AG Neckarsulm, where he coordinated both the Digital Factory and IT in production planning, focusing on the optimization of methods and processes in digital production and logistics. From 2019, he acted as Head of Structural Planning and Design in car-body construction planning. Since March 2019, he has been Director of the Institute of Mechanical Handling and Logistics at the University of Stuttgart.
