Newsletter Data

Demographic Features in Google Analytics

Our website uses the “demographic features” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated containing information about website visitors' age, gender and interests. The data comes from Google's interest-based advertising and visitor data from third-party providers. It cannot be attributed to a particular person. Use of Zoom for Webinars and Online Meetings

Data Processor
  To conduct webinars and online meetings, we use the “Zoom” service provided by Zoom Video Communications, Inc., 55 Almaden Boulevard, 6th Floor, San Jose, CA 95113, USA (“Zoom”). We have entered into a data processing agreement with Zoom pursuant to Article 28 GDPR (Zoom Global DPA).

Purpose and Legal Basis  
Processing takes place to conduct the booked event, in particular to send access details and to run the webinar or meeting technically. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, supplemented by Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (smooth operation).

Data Processed 
Name, email address, company where applicable, IP address, device and connection data, participation logs and, where actively used, video, audio and chat data.

Recording  
Webinars are generally not recorded. If a recording is made, this will be announced at the start. Webinars connected with a public online pitch or competition are recorded for later assessment by the jury; excerpts may also be published on GITO websites and social media channels. Participants are informed by an audible signal when recording starts and ends.

Transfer to the USA  
Zoom is based in the USA. The transfer takes place on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), under which Zoom is certified as an active participant, supplemented by EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to Article 46(2)(c) GDPR as an additional safeguard.

Retention Period  
Registration data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to conduct and follow up the event, and no later than five years, unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise.
