Prof. Gerrit Sames is a board member of the Smart Electronic Factory. Smart Electronic Factory e.V. is an information and demonstration platform for Industry 4.0, which is implemented in a real electronics factory. Various software and hardware manufacturers as well as university institutions are actively involved in this initiative. The central objective is to implement Industry 4.0 scenarios, with a focus on solutions suitable for SMEs, in the real production of companies.
He also teaches as a professor of business administration at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen in Giessen, where his students benefit from his many years of practical experience as an engineer in management positions at Buderus Heiztechnik, Schott-Rohrglas, Schott Solar and Monier (roofing technology).
He also conducts research with Ritsumeikan University (Kobe/Japan) and the Research Institute for Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) – the think tank of the Japanese Ministry of Economy – on the status of digitalization of business processes in Japan and Germany.
