Prof. Claus Oetter is Managing Director of the Software and Digitalization Association and Head of the Computer Science Department at VDMA in Frankfurt am Main. He is a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, specializing in software engineering for artificial intelligence. Previously, he worked for several years in management positions at AEG, Daimler-Industrie, Cegelec and Alstom, among others. As an IT consultant / project manager for client/server and web-based system architectures as well as database modeling in logistics and production. He was mainly responsible for major projects in the automotive sector and mechanical engineering as well as database systems for major European and Asian airports. He studied electrical engineering / communications engineering with a focus on automation in Frankfurt. His main area of interest is digitalization, in particular artificial intelligence and software engineering. He shares his practical experience at conferences, seminars and as a Professional Scrum Master. He is the author/co-author of various publications in the fields of software engineering, usability, user experience, agile and Industry 4.0.
